The main aim of the project European Information System for Organic Markets (EISfOM) is to develop a framework for the collection and processing of relevant, timely, reliable and comprehensive data on organic production and markets. The first European EISfOM seminar "Development of a European information system for organic markets" took place in Berlin, Germany, on the 26th and 27th of April 2004. The second seminar will take place November 10 and 11 2005 in Brussels. It will define a framework for a European Information System for Organic Markets. The discussions at the seminar will be based on the recommendations of the EISFOM project, to be made available by September 2005. The recommendations and the discussion at the seminar will focus on
The first
EISfOM seminar was a major opportunity to discuss the first results of
the EISfOM project and to debate future directions. In order to achieve
the seminars objectives, much of the work of the seminar The project
European Information System for Organic Markets (EISfOM) is a concerted
action funded by the European Commission under key action 5 (Quality of
Life) of the 5th Framework Programme for Research and Technological Development
(QLK5 2002-02400). The project integrates researchers, official and commercial
agencies and stakeholders, in order to meet the data needs of policy,
makers, regulators, farmers, processors, traders, retailers and other
interested parties.
